Festival of Lights Fest (and belated inaugural post!)

I really meant to get around to making a "first post" post when I got a Dreamwidth account, I swear... Even had a title picked out and everything. "Back to school blues." Since I was heading back to campus for the first time in a year and a half, it seemed apt.

But.

Orientation for new instructors in my program, which I am now in charge of helping plan and run, hit me like a brick wall. And I still didn't have my own course prepped, and then suddenly it was the second or third week of class and it just didn't seem right‎—‎and suddenly we're here, and I'm left feeling very silly indeed.

Anyways, now that I'm very belatedly making my inaugural post, I wanted to share some good news:

• I met a ferret on campus today and its owner let me pet it
• My students' "field trip" to one of the campus art galleries went splendidly
• And Festival of Lights Fest is back!!

A ferret! Oh wow! That sounds adorable! And congrats on the start of the school year and the return to campus – I hope all goes well.
